Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of each month.
(Note the 4th Monday is not always the last Monday of the month.)
Please note: People often come to the group seeking info on what has worked for others. While this can be helpful, it is important to note that group members are not medical professionals. They speak only from their own experience, and any treatments mentioned in meetings cannot be taken as medical advice.
November 2021 update:
The group has been meeting on Zoom on the 4th Monday of each month. We have a Groups.io mailing list in place of the old Yahoo group. All past group members were invited; another round of invitations will go out this month in case anyone missed that email. If you are new and would like to join us, please send an email to ellenluba (at) yahoo.com, and please put NYC SUPPORT in the subject line. Thank you.
3.19.20 Message from Ellen:
During the coronavirus crisis, we will have to cancel the in-person meetings of the Lyme disease group until it becomes safer to all be together again.
This is a hard time to stop the meetings, so I hope we will all keep in touch to share information, resources and the many feelings this crisis must be creating. Email us through NewYorkCityLymeSupportGroup (at) yahoogroups.com.
If you are not getting emails from the NewYorkCityLymeSupportGroup, just create a yahoo email address and send it to me at ellenluba (at) yahoo.com. You'll then need to look for an invitation from me or yahoogroups that you will need to accept in order to get added to the group.
If you need to reach me, please email me at ellenluba (at) yahoo.com, and please put NYC SUPPORT in the subject line so I don't miss it.
I will try to set up a virtual group meeting as soon as I can. Vanessa suggested ZOOM and I will look into that and let you all know when we can have a virtual meeting.
To say the least, it feels like a sick joke to be hit with the fear of another mysterious illness at the same time as we’re struggling with Lyme. It will probably take us a long time to even wrap our minds around it. Please check in with our yahoogroup to let us know how you’re doing. Please follow the CDC instructions to keep yourselves safe. http://www.cdc.gov/covid19.
Much love,
Ellen
